Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro asked on Thursday (27) a “equal to to-to-toe” dialogue with the United States, a day after Donald Trump’s government revokes Chevron’s license to operate in the country.

During an event with supporters, most civil servants, who marched to Miraflores Palace to mark the 36th anniversary of the popular uprising known as “El Caracazo”, Maduro approached American sanctions, but not directly mentioning Trump’s decision.

“If the gringos wanted a respectful dialogue, equally to the equal, we did, we have done and we will do it again, without a problem,” said leader Chavista. “But if they want to continue betting on fascism, violence and sanctions, their problem. We will follow our path of independence, peace and harmony.”
