A man who had cast the Big Ben clock tower of London was arrested today. He remained about 16 hours at the scene before deciding to get off the tower.

What happened

  • Man spent the whole Saturday at the scene. He climbed the Elizabeth Tower of London, where is the famous Big Ben, barefoot and without using any safety equipment.
  • “Free Palestine,” shouted the man. He broadcast the live action over the internet. Crowds gathered behind the police cord to see him, some also shouting “Palestine Free” and “You’re a hero.”
  • Negotiators used a fire truck staircase to talk to the man. “I will descend into my own conditions,” replied the protester.
  • Police isolated the area around, including the Westminster Bridge, and the Parliament canceled public visits. Traffic in the region was released shortly after the protester’s arrest.
