Government ‘won’t go to’ about Eduardo Bolsonaro in committee, says leader
The government leader spoke shortly after the PT leader in the house, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), preaching a “accord” against the choice. “(Eduardo’s choice) is an institutional problem for Brazil, it is not anything. It is a problem for the Supreme (Federal Court), a problem for the House in its generality,” he said, when leaving the same meeting.
For the petista, Eduardo would use the position to “reinforce an articulation of embarrassment to the Supreme and the Constitution of Brazil”. “(If chosen,) he will represent the Brazilian Parliament. The Foreign Relations Commission will represent the Brazilian Parliament in the world. I mean that this amplifies the steps (to embarrass the Supreme internationally),” he argued.
Lindbergh left Planalto and went to the House’s official residence to discuss with President Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB). The deputy could try to intercede, dialoguing with the PL, but has no prerogative to block the party’s nomination, for example.
For this dialogue, however, Lindbergh would need massive support from the center. The petista said he is gathering support, but did not cite parties or leaders from outside the siege of the left that would support the idea.
“Even if you have a together there is a joint job to get another party name,” said Deputy TalĂria Petrone (PSOL-RJ), party leader. “The figure of Eduardo Bolsonaro does not help to consensure the house,” he argued.
Eduardo is close to US President Donald Trump. The deputy was in the United States during the republican election and has dialogued directly with the government there.
