New Japan’s Bala Train has an anti-terremoto system and speed of 320 km/h
The UK Tangerine was selected as a partner of design in the project. This is the first time a consultancy from another country has been chosen to work on the iconic Japanese trains. The British company will be responsible for the outdoor painting and the interior design of the new Bala Train.
The external painting of the E10 Shinkansen honors the various regions that the train crosses, with a medium-green palette reflecting the lush mountainous and coastal forests along the route. Graphic forms are inspired by the silhouette of the flowers of Sakura – an iconic symbol of Japan, both nationally and internationally Tangerine Communication
