Pope can make first public appearance after 36 days hospitalized
The Vatican announced that he plans for tomorrow’s first public appearance of Pope Francis since the pontiff’s hospitalization on February 14. The idea is that he greet and bless the faithful and followers at the door of Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he has been for over a month.
What happened
Greeting is scheduled for shortly after 12 noon tomorrow. According to the Vatican, the Angelus text will be shared as it has been in recent weeks since Francis was hospitalized. If this is confirmed, it will be the first time the Pope will appear to the public since February 14. Since then, only his audio has been released.
Doctors have not yet given any indication when the Pope was discharged from the hospital. Vatican evaluation is that the appearance may be possible after the latest health update shared the continuous improvements of Pope Francis’ respiratory and motor functions.
