Body of Brazilian killed in Ukraine is in a minefield, says cousin
Tiago’s family and friends, residents of Rurópolis, in Pará, received the news about his death on Thursday (28). He was 19 years old and traveled to Ukraine at the end of October.
“He always said he didn’t want to be just one of humanity,” Luan Nascimento, a friend of the Brazilian, told Facto News.. “He wanted to be efficient somewhere, help people,” he added.
Luan said that his friend talked about the trip to Ukraine a week before embarking. “We tried to convince him not to go, but he didn’t listen to us,” he said.
Motorcade
Tiago’s friends and family organized a motorcade in Rurópolis, on Friday night, in honor of him. “When I received confirmation that he was dead, I broke down, I cried a lot, but we have to be strong to pay this tribute,” Luan told Facto News hours before the motorcade.
Information about the Brazilian’s death circulates in pro-Russia groups on Telegram. “Tiago had been exposed to a lot of propaganda, which led him to believe that this would be the easiest war he had ever heard of. However, as we all know, things don’t always work out like that”, says an excerpt from the text shared.
