Ônibus perde os freios e vai parar na praia em Montevidéu

A bus accident, which occurred on Avenida Brasil, in Montevideo (Uruguay), this Saturday (26), left at least 16 people injured, six in serious condition.

What happened

The vehicle reportedly lost its brakes, hit a wall and ended up on the beach around 12pm. The driver was thrown against the windshield and was found in the water before being rescued, according to information from the Uruguayan newspaper El País.

Ministry of the Interior reported that it received a call for help in the incident. “Arriving at the scene, it was a Cutcsa bus, which would have continued its march, heading in the opposite direction along Avenida Brasil, entering the boulevard and ending at the beach,” he said, in an excerpt from the statement.
