Chamber approves project that allows bank secrecy to be broken for pension payments
The Chamber of Deputies approved, this Wednesday, the 25th, a bill that allows the breach of banking and tax secrecy in actions regarding the payment of alimony in situations where assets are hidden by the supporter.
The project was authored by the government leader in the Chamber, José Guimarães (PT-CE), and was forwarded to the Federal Senate. The proposal amends the Maria da Penha Law, the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), among other legislation.

The proposal had already been approved in the Chamber of Deputies last week and now goes to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for approval.

According to the text, reported by Natália Bonavides (PT-RN), “it may be determined, by reasoned judicial decision, the breach of the bank and tax secrecy of the feeder when there is no other suitable means of determining their real financial capacity, or when there is evidence of concealment of income or assets”.
