Differences were always “respectful” with Arthur Lira, says Pacheco

The President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG)evaluated his relationship with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL)as positive throughout his mandate.
“We always try to respect each other. We had political differences, which were reported, but always respectful”, explained the parliamentarian to the senators Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO) and Leila Barros (PDT-DF)in an interview on the podcast PODK Releaseddisplayed on RedeTV! and in YouTube on Sunday night (24).
“I thank you for the civility and respect with which (Lira) treated me over the years”, added Pacheco.
Pacheco: “I have a very strong tendency to end my public life in 2027”
Even so, the president of the Senate highlighted that the support of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) for a possible candidacy for the government of Minas Gerais “is something that every politician would like to have”
The president of the Senate also highlighted as his biggest challenges in presiding over the House the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and the violent acts against the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília (DF), on January 8, 2023.

Pacheco: discussion on public spending will dominate Congress after tax
“I have no problem joining a program that is a national project to contain public spending, including reducing the expenses of the National Congress”, said the president of the Senate on the podcast
Pacheco also said that the fight against such acts is not only related to the date, but also to constant attacks on the polls, institutions and minorities, in addition to the current investigation by the Federal Police (PF) into an alleged attempted coup d’état and assassination of the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT)from the vice president Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes.
“This is being fought in light of these serious crimes of violation of democracy”, concluded Pacheco.
