Erika Hilton asks the PF for an investigation into death threats after a video about Pix

The leader of PSOL in the Chamber, federal deputy Erika Hilton (SP), asked the Federal Police this Sunday, 19, to open an investigation into death threats received on the internet after the release of a video in which she refutes statements made by deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) in relation to Pix.

According to the parliamentarian’s office, internet users made posts on the social network – in a reference to the murderer of councilor Marielle Franco. She also reports that the threats were extended to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

To the PF, Hilton’s lawyers sent messages and information from their respective profiles and asked for the identification of the perpetrators of the crimes, according to the press office. “I will not back down. I am, together with my lawyers and security team, taking the appropriate measures to hold those who commit crimes accountable, but, above all, we cannot lose focus, which is to spread the truth about the facts”, said the deputy, in a note to press.

In the video about Pix, published on Saturday, the 18th, Hilton gives a speech in a similar format to Nikolas, but instead of a black backdrop, like the deputy’s, she is dressed in white. “They are lying to you. The Lula government never defended the taxation of Pix. The person who always defended it was Bolsonaro’s former Economy Minister, Paulo Guedes,” she says.

According to the press office, the video had 80 million views in 12 hours of broadcasting. The “Pix crisis” occurred because of a Normative Instruction from the Federal Revenue Service published in September and which came into force on January 1st of this year. The measure expanded the Revenue’s inspection of financial transactions. The government, however, revoked the instruction and cited the spread of false information as the reason.
