French scientist has the entry in the US denied after criticizing Trump government

A spokesman for the Ministry of Education confirmed the reports of AFP and Le Monde about the ban on a scientist without giving details.

When contacted, the US embassy in Paris referred the case to the US border customs agency. The US customs did not immediately respond to an email request for email.

President Donald Trump’s government has taken several measures to cut or freeze federal funding to universities, medical centers and other research institutions since taking office in January.

In border issues, Trump has announced a series of immigration -related executive decrees that focus on border policies and more rigorous visas verification procedures, as well as repression of undocumented migrants in the United States.

Germany updated its travel warning this week to emphasize that a visa or entry exemption – when there is no visa requirement – does not guarantee its citizens’ entry into the US. This occurred after several Germans were recently detained at the border, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

In recent weeks, the United Kingdom has also reviewed its councils to citizens traveling to the US to include a warning that anyone who violates entry rules could be arrested or detained.
