Canada will announce 29.8 billion Canadian dollars ($ 20.6 billion) in retaliatory tariffs against the United States on Wednesday in response to steel and aluminum tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, a Canadian authority said.

Authority did not want to be identified.

The increase in Trump tariffs on steel and aluminum imports came into force on Wednesday, with previous exemptions, tax quotas and product exclusions expiring as their campaign to reorder global trade in favor of the US gains strength.
