Judge indefinitely postpones Trump’s sentence; president-elect celebrates
Prosecutor Alvin Bragg had indicated in a court filing that he would oppose a complete reversal of procedures, but that the issue deserved consideration. Agreeing with the defense lawyers, he even acknowledged that the possibility of freezing all proceedings “until the end of the presidential term” of Trump, elected this month, should be considered.
Trump’s team celebrated this Friday (22) as a “decisive victory”. “In a decisive victory for President Trump, the Manhattan case was completely suspended and the sentence was postponed,” said the tycoon’s communications director, Steven Cheung, in a statement in which he denounced several judicial “farces” against the president-elect.
