Leaders of the UN Global Compact in Brazil are accused of moral harassment

“It is precisely because they believe in the power and importance of the organization that the whistleblowers come together in this challenging and painful moment, seeking to rescue not only their dignity, but the dignity of the Global Compact itself”, says lawyer Juliana Bertholdi, spokesperson for the group .
This month, the complaints were sent by email to Pacto.
When contacted, the Global Compact in Brazil stated that it was informed on October 17th about new allegations that had not been submitted before — according to the institution, there were four reports of moral harassment in 2023 and one in 2022.
The organization reported that it immediately launched an investigation, which is being conducted by an external law firm and supervised by a special committee.
At least two general meetings were held to inform Pact professionals about the case. In one of them, in the second (28), they were instructed to “shield” the organization, as the matter could “directly affect” the individual professional reputation of all of them.
Whistleblowers also took the case to the Global Compact headquarters, in New York (USA), to UN Brazil, in Brasília, and to the NGO Amnesty International.
