Lira signals intention to vote on project on regulatory agencies, says newspaper

After the blackout that hit São Paulo last weekend, the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), told allies that Congress should study measures to limit the role of regulatory agencies in the country, according to a newspaper report Economic Value.
According to the report, the president of the Chamber believes that the changes must be comprehensive and cannot be directed exclusively to the energy sector.
Lira has not yet set a deadline for the project, claiming that she does not want to vote in the heat of the moment, referring to the moment of dissatisfaction with the performance of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) compared to Enel’s performance in São Paulo .
It is worth remembering that this is the third time that an episode of this nature has hit the city within a year.
Regulatory agencies are responsible for controlling and supervising the execution of public services transferred to the private sector. In addition to Aneel, examples are the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) among others.
