Moraes determines Rumble social network blockade in Brazil

The Supreme Court Minister (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, ordered on Friday (21) the blockade of the Rumble Social Network in Brazil.

According to the decision, the blockade was motivated by “repeated, conscious and volunteers breach of court orders” by the platform, which, according to Moraes, created an “environment of total impunity and ‘land without law’ in Brazilian social networks”.

The minister determined the “immediate and integral suspension” of the operation of Rumble in Brazil until all court orders are met, including the payment of fines.

Moraes had given a period of 48 hours for Rumble to inform who is its legal representative in the country, with full powers to appoint lawyers and compliance with court decisions.

Rumble has gained popularity among conservatives in the United States and describes itself as an advocate of a “free and open internet.”

This week, the social network filed a lawsuit in the United States, along with the communication group Trump Media & Technology Group of President Donald Trump, accusing Moraes of censorship and seeking to ensure that the orders of the Brazilian judge do not have legal effect on USA.
