NASA Astronauts return to Earth after 8 -day mission lasts 9 months
American astronauts Barry Eugene Wilmore, 62, and NASA’s Sunita Williams, 59, returned to Earth today, after spending nine months in space, on a trip that should have lasted eight days.
What happened
Crew Dragon Freedom capsule of the Crew-9 mission with astronauts “landed” around 6:57 pm today (Brasília time). Astronauts landed on the coast of the Florida Gulf in the United States and were collected by a vessel that left them on land.
Trip back to Earth had the support of US astronaut Nick Hague, and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. They were sent to the International Space Station (ISS in English) last September, with two vacant venues in the ship, used to transport back Williams and Wilmore.
