European Union prepares retaliation against Trump fares

The European Union is preparing to retaliate against fares proposed by Donald Trump on aluminum and the steel. The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that unjustified tariffs “will trigger firm and proportionate contracted.”

The EU can respond with aluminum and steel tariffs from the US, as it did in 2018, or choose other products to tax. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz appealed to European solidarity.
