PGR should submit a complaint against Bolsonaro this month, says Jornal

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) must submit a complaint against the former president Jair Bolsonaro By the end of February, according to the newspaper The globe.

However, the expectation of Ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) is that no piece will be delivered this week. The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, has told interlocutors that the case requires caution and cannot be treated in a hurry.

The PGR has analyzed and adjusted the material produced by the Federal Police, which, in November 2024, indicted Bolsonaro and 39 people for alleged participation in a coup plot after the defeat to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the 2022 elections.

The 884 -page PF report points out that Bolsonaro “planned, acted and had directly and effective dominion” in an attempt to coup.

If the complaint is formalized, the case will be referred to Minister Alexandre de Moraes and tried by the First Class of the Supreme Court. Since the indictment, Bolsonaro denies any involvement in attempts at institutional rupture.
