PL should support Alcolumbre in the Senate and discuss support for Motta in the Chamber, says Bolsonaro

The former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) indicated, this Tuesday (29), support for the candidacy of Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP) for the presidency of the Senate from next year by saying that, in 2023, by betting on its own candidacy, the PL was defeated and now lives like “a zombie” in the Senate.
“We know Alcolumbre’s strength and that he should be president in the future. In 2023, we play with (Rogério) Marinho, we lost and we have no space on the Board or in committees. We are almost like zombies in here, with all due respect to the work that the PL bench and others do. We have to participate in the Board” said the former president. “Nowadays, the painting is Alcolumbre. What is the alternative?” he asked.
Bolsonaro says he will be a candidate in 2026, hopes for amnesty and launches Michelle into the Senate
During a visit to the Senate, Bolsonaro defended the creation of a special commission to discuss the bill that would grant amnesty to those prosecuted on January 8, as determined by the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL)
Bolsonaro also stated that the PL’s support for the deputy Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) for the presidency of the Chamber “is being discussed”.
“Yesterday, I spoke to Lira, it’s no mystery to anyone,” he said. According to the former president, the conversation discussed the creation of a commission for amnesty for those prosecuted on January 8, 2023, a topic on which he also discussed with federal deputy Carol de Toni, president of the CCJ of the Chamber, where the proposal was being processed.
Bolsonaro insisted, however, that “who will support is the bench in the Chamber”, which should meet on Wednesday (30). “I, personally, have a burden, but I don’t want to impose any of the three names on the bench”, he concluded.
