Images show cars being dragged and streets destroyed. In some cities there is no electricity or telephone service, and many places are inaccessible. “We are facing an unprecedented situation, which no one remembers,” said the head of Valencia’s government.

Ceasefire proposal

Mediators who participated in meetings on a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas earlier this week in Doha will propose a truce of “less than a month” to the Palestinian movementaccording to information from the France Presse news agency. The proposal includes exchanging hostages for prisoners and increasing humanitarian aid.

On another front, the US works on proposed 60-day ceasefire in Lebanon between Israel and the Shiite group Hezbollah, according to information from the Reuters news agency. However, Israeli network TV Channel 12 said the government was seeking an agreement that would authorize the country to carry out airstrikes to ensure the “direct application” of the truce.

‘Horrifying result’

The United States publicly criticized Israel yesterday for the attack on a residential building in Beit Lahia, in the Gaza Strip, which left almost a hundred people dead, including 25 children, according to the local Ministry of Health. A State Department spokesman called the bombing “a horrific incident with a horrifying outcome.”
