Treasury and CGU employees intensify strike; Revenue auditors ask for adjustment

Two categories of employees – tax auditors from the Federal Revenue Service and auditors and finance and control technicians, which includes the National Treasury and the Comptroller General of the Union – promise to intensify mobilizations from next week. In the case of the Treasury and CGU, there will be strikes in the bodies on two days of the week and the judicialization of an action that requires the government to publish the ordinances of more than 200 leadership positions that have already been handed over by civil servants.

Tax auditors, who managed to regulate a productivity bonus this year, demand the opening of a specific negotiation table with the Ministry of Management.

Treasury and CGU employees have been negotiating salary adjustments and structural career changes for months, without progress. This week, the government’s proposal was rejected for the third time and it was decided to expand the strike. Therefore, starting next week, there will be a strike on two days of the week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The National Union of Auditors and Federal Finance and Control Technicians (Unacon) also went to court to force the Union to publish the ordinances with exemptions upon request. One of the ways of mobilizing the category is the handover of management positions. To date, there are 206 requests at the CGU and 163 requests at the Treasury, which have been officially filed and have already exceeded the 60-day deadline set for the Union to dismiss civil servants from their duties.

In practice, the publication of dismissals can paralyze the activities of bodies, especially in the Treasury, where several operations depend on authorization from bosses, using a password. The union sent a letter to the Ministry of Management asking for negotiations to resume on Thursday, 10th.

In the case of tax auditors from the Federal Revenue, around 500 employees participated in events in ten capitals on Thursday, the 10th, as they understand that the government is failing to fulfill a commitment made with the union this year to open specific negotiation tables and temporary measures to deal with issues such as career restructuring and salary adjustments, which should have occurred by the month of July.

The National Union of Tax Auditors of the Federal Revenue of Brazil (Sindifisco Nacional) hopes to raise awareness in the government about the situation of the category before increasing the mobilization, with the handover of leadership positions, for example.

“There is no reason why treatment should not be equal between the different categories of public service. We hope that the federal government realizes the importance of the movement and responds to the demands, so we do not need to evolve into a strike”, said the entity’s director of Inter-Union and International Affairs, Dão Real.

Tax auditors had a victory in April, by managing to regulate the payment of a productivity bonus, pending since 2017. Servers went on strike for 81 days to press for the agreement, which also led other categories to demand bonuses, in addition to salary adjustments. and career restructuring.
