An Israeli woman kidnapped by the Palestinian militants of Hamas reported her trial to the UN Security Council on Tuesday, telling the 15 members of the agency that she did not think she would be alive, and asked the ceasefire to be maintained.

Noa Argamani was rescued by Israeli forces in June last year, eight months after being kidnapped by Hamas at a music festival in southern Israel. His partner, Avinatan or, is still held hostage and should be released during the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

The initial phase of the ceasefire, which began on January 19, is due to end on Saturday, with dozens of hostages released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians who were detained in Israel.
