X tells the STF that he will pay fines; Moraes orders account unblocking
OX told the Federal Supreme Court (STF) this Tuesday (1) that it will pay the fines imposed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes on the social network.
Payment of fines is one of the conditions imposed by the Supreme Court for the social network to resume functioning in Brazil.
After the company’s statement, the minister ordered the Central Bank and the CVM to unblock X’s bank accounts and financial assets in the country.
According to the former Twitter, the amounts will be paid with its own resources, without the need for Starlink, another company linked to Elon Musk, to participate in the operation.
Elon Musk’s platform reported that it will pay R$28.6 million in fines: R$18.3 million refers to fines not paid by the company; R$ 10 million referring to the maneuvers used by the social network to return to the air two weeks ago; and R$ 300 thousand referring to a fine imposed on Rachel de Oliveira Villa Nova Conceição, the company’s legal representative in Brazil
